In November 2024 Torch acquired an 18% shareholding in HUFC, bringing its expertise to bear on a planned ca. £4-5m capital redevelopment of the historic Pilot Field and supporting the club’s long-term growth ambitions. New facilities will include two 3G pitches, a new main stand, ancillary services and multi-use sports facilities for community use. Torch has worked with leading architects, community and third-sector stakeholders, funding agencies, planning authorities, private investors and Hastings’ MP and Council Leaders to progress the project, with a full planning application expected to be submitted in the autumn of 2026.
